Laguna Agate
Laguna agate, mined near Ojo Laguna in Chihuahua, Mexico, is a classic old-time material known for its wide variety of beautiful bright colors. Bright reds, oranges and yellows are not unusual in this material. The mining area consists of several claims in a very mountainous, rugged area where the Laguna nodules are mined out of a hard, volcanic rock. Their quality texture comes to a high polish, making the Laguna agate a great material for cabochons.
